D750 3rd Recall

31 July 2017 By DaBoss Leave a Comment

So, for what I beleive to be the 3rd time,  Nikon have put out a statement recalling all their Nikon D750 cameras. I have to be hinest, this pisses me the fuck off a little.

Not becase they have issued this recall for my model Nikon for the third time, but more for the fact that for the first two times, when I checked my serial number, they said; “Youre camer is not affected” Now all of a sudden it is????

I personally feel they are covering their asses and basically recalling all D750 camera before the latest batch. Just to be on the safe side.

Now I’m rather indecisive as to whether or not to send it in. And here are a couple of the reasons why:

Cons:

  1. Fuck you.
  2. Fuck you.
  3. There was NO issue with my camera shutter the first two recalls, why now?
  4. It’s a BALL ACHE to wrap it all up, ship it off and wait X amount of weeks for it to be sent back.
  5. Fuck you.
  6. Currently, my camera works fine. No real issues over the last 2+ years.
  7. I’m sitting on 21668 actuations. No where near enough to justify a shutter change.

Pros:

  1. I’m not at the peak of my shooting schedule. I won’t exactly miss the camera for a couple of weeks. (Been flying my drone)
  2. It’s free.
  3. Fuck you.
  4. It gets a brand new shutter and more than likely a sensor clean. So effectively, almost like a new camera?
  5. Shutter count goes back down to ZERO.
  6. Why am I even discussing this? It’s free. Send it in.

Well… That’s probably the most pointless blog I’ve ever written. Or is it????

In other news…. I purchased a DJI Mavic Pro drone. Am hoping to utilise it towards some of our outdoor “adventures” If it would stop raining long enough in this fucking place.

Yes. There are a lot more FUCKS than usual. Probably because I am listening to Limp Bizkit. (Fast Forward to the 2:00 min mark)

You can read more about the D750 recall and what the actual issue is, here at Petapixel. As I said, I’ve never noticed any issues or obvious flaring. When I first heard about the third recall, I removed shot a few snaps around the house. Then removed the lens, put the camera into Manual and Manual Focus, along with Continuous High shooting. I held the shutter down for what felt like 1000 straight shots and nothing. Nothing obvious anyways.

But as mentioned above in the PROs section… I’ll probably send it in this week.

Right. I’m out. Comment if you want.

Peace.
