Shooting Jodie

29 June 2017 By DaBoss Leave a Comment

Last time I shot with Jodie was back in 2013. 4 years have since, flown by. So it was about time that we put a date on the calendar for a shoot.

As some of you may know I’ve been trying to get back into shooting more often. Generally, I don’t do a lot of TF stuff unless it’s with a model who is prepared to shoot my styles and it benefits both of our portfolios.

So when I was started looking around for a model to shoot/book, Jodie was an obvious choice.

It would be safe to say that my shooting style and focus have changed somewhat. Along with gaining more experience with the camera and with photoshop.

On the day of the shoot, Jodie arrived more or less on time. Except for a little hiccup with her sat nav at the top of my street, we shot at my place btw, she was was ready to rock n roll.

Caught mid conversation

From the get go it was as if 4 years hadn’t passed as we got to chatting and catching up the second she put her bags down inside the house.

We ran through a few of my ideas and locations within the house I’d like to shoot as well as what we could try to experiment with. Having a model that is as open to ideas as Jodie is is a treat. There isn’t much she isn’t prepared to try to get that shot.

We signed our photographer and model release forms and before you knew it, Jodie was half dressed, in her underwear, upstairs in my bedroom.

Mind out the gutter chaps. This was a professional working environment.

I’d purchased a really cheap flash light modifier. It attaches right onto the face of my Nikon SB700 with Velcro and gave me just the dramatic and heavily vignetted look I was going for.

All she way through the shoot we chatted, gossiped and caught up. I’ve been following Jodie’s antics on social media the last few years and one thing is for sure, she’s got a lot of energy and lives her life to the fullest.

Personally, I feel it was a successful days shooting. Got over 500 images. About half are usable. Which is always a plus. And more importantly, I got to carry on with my Light Experimentation.

I think I will definitely be shooting with Jodie again at some point, at the very least before the end of 2017.
